Diner Dash is a time-management game that puts players in the middle of a busy restaurant. You will be working alongside Flo on various tasks, including greeting and seating customers, taking orders, serving food and clearing tables.

Diner Dash Instructions

Welcoming and Seating Guests

When customers come into the restaurant, the first thing you must do is seat them at available tables. Don't leave them waiting too long at the entrance, or their patience will wear thin.

Taking Orders and Serving Food

Once seated, customers are ready to order. You have to get their orders quickly and serve the food whenever it is ready. The early levels are not too busy, but as you progress you may need to take orders from several tables at once. At this point, you need to be observant and able to prioritise tasks.

Money Collection and Table Clearing

Payments need to be taken, tables should be cleared, and preparations made for the next group of customers. If dirty tables are not cleared quickly, there will be no place for new customers to sit, and the delay may cause overcrowding in the restaurant. Complete tasks in an efficient route to reduce travel time.

Restaurant Quandaries

  • Customer Impatience: Customers have their own waiting thresholds. If the service is too slow, they'll get frustrated and leave.
  • Sudden Flood of Customers: You have to cope with a flood of requests if there are many customers in a short span of time.
  • Multi-Tasking: You will be saying, “Hi may I take your order?”, serving, collecting payments, and clearing tables all at once.
  • Prompt Table Clearings: Without prompt table clearings, you can’t seat new customers, and restaurant operations come to a standstill.
  • Get around efficiently: Running between stations wastes time and makes it hard to keep up with the restaurant’s pace.
  • Score pressure: You have to serve quickly, make few mistakes and make sure customers are satisfied during the entire level to achieve a good score.
  • Increasing difficulty: Later levels demand better observation, reflexes, and task management as the restaurbecomesgets busier.

How to score more points

Players can improve their scores by performing actions smartly rather than just clicking repeatedly.

Action Sequences

If you have a lot of customers who need the same type of service, try to do those jobs

Reduce unnecessary movement

Create spaces like an entryway, dining area and kitchen. Flo is more efficient when doing several tasks in one area before moving on to another area.

Tables prepared

Empty clean table means you can seat new people. So don’t ignore tables where diners have finished their meal.

Controls

  • Left-click: Perform main restaurant actions.
  • Click on customers: Seat them at the appropriate table or fulfill their requests.
  • Click on tables: Take orders, serve food, or collect payment.
  • Click on specific areas: Clean up and perform other tasks.

Why is Diner Dash still appealing?

The beauty of Diner Dash is that the rules are easy to learn and don't get old. You can easily see what you have to do but getting a high score is a story of its own.

The initial levels are meant to teach players about Flo’s work. As the speed increases and more customers arrive, you will have to make decisions quickly. There's a special high you get from finishing a crazy shift with all your customers happy.

Summary

Get ready to step into the restaurant, greet your first customers and begin a hectic shift. Can you satisfy every customer? Keep everyone happy? Be a restaurant management guru? Take on the challenge and play Diner Dash today!
